BLACK ROBED CELEBRANTS

During Holy Week in Queretaro the male residents don these robes and walk in a silent procession from the Convento de la Santa Cruz through the streets while carrying crosses in memory of Jesus. The photograph was taken with a Hasselblad HD-31 with a 28mm lens.

GUANAJUATO SEEN FROM FUNICULAR

Guanajuanto, the capital city of the state of the same name, is built in the valley between two hillsides. There is a funicular which travels up the hillside to the south of the city, and from the top there are wonderful panoramic views of the city. INDIAN WOMAN IN CHURCH, LA PARROQUIA

On the first Friday of March, Indians from the surrounding area come to San Miguel to celebrate the Feast of the Lord of the Conquest. They wear these elaborate home made costumes and dance in the streets after praying in the La Parroquia church. FOUR WOMEN EATING ICE CREAM

On this day the Governor of Guanajuato had proclaimed a Women's Day, which was held in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and these four women were in town for the event.
