This woman is wearing her finest woven kira (dress), silk brocaded toego (jacket), and rachung (ceremonial scarf) to attend the spring teschu (religious festival) at the Paro dzong in western Bhutan. These teschu are major occasions in the social calendar and the women outdo each other in the finery of their clothing. This vertical panoramic photograph was taken using a Hasselblad X-pan camera.
