For many visitors, the Taj Mahal, built from 1631 to 1653, in Agra, Uttar Pradesh is the symbol of India. Often called a monument to love, the Taj is visited by foreigners all day long, while Indians tend to come in the afternoon and early evening. On the four days I have visited the Taj, only on this day was there water in the reflecting pool in front of the tomb of Mumtaz Muhal, the second wife of the Emperor Shan Jahan. This vertical panoramic photograph was taken with a Hasselblad X-pan camera. ![]() Location: AGRA, INDIAPhoto Number: 3082 |
