These Evzones, in less ceremonial dress, are guarding a military installation on Idorou Attikou street behind the National Gardens in Athens, Greece. The Evzones wear military dress that commemorates the uniform of the Greek army at the time of the war of independence from the Ottoman Empire in the first third of the 19th century.
